Ella Witalec ‘25 a National 2024 Aspirations in Computing Award Winner

Congratulations to Ella Witalec '25 who has been named a National 2024 Aspirations in Computing Awards winner by the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) in partnership with KeyBank.

Ella was one of 38 high school students across Ohio to receive an Ohio Affiliate Award and was the only student to move on to receive the National Award honor. She was recognized for her leadership and involvement in technology, robotics, and applied science, along with her academic success. Ella launched CodeHERs CLE last year to help teach coding to girls in Middle School. This effort is part of her Capstone Project at Laurel.

Ella joined other Ohio Affiliate Award winners in April to an awards ceremony, which featured a panel of professionals discussing the Future of Data, Robotics & AI. All shared insight into their career paths, education, and personal growth in STEM.

The NCWIT Aspirations in Computing program is a talent development initiative designed to increase female participation in technology careers by providing encouragement, visibility, community, leadership opportunities, scholarships, and internships to aspiring technically inclined young women.
