Parents of accepted students are invited to join Head of School Ann V. Accepted students are welcome to take a second look by spending additional time in classrooms to see what sets Laurel apart. Please note that students accepted to Grades 3-5 will revisit at the Butler Campus.

Laurel’s Middle and Upper School Speech and Debate team kicked off 2025 with a Laurel-hosted tournament on January 4 that garnered some amazing results, including 1st place in Dramatic Interpretation and a bid to the State Tournament for McKenna Caver ‘26, 1st place in Program Oral Interpretation and a bid to States for Julia Duong ‘26, and 1st place in United States Extemporaneous Speaking and a bid to States for Ella Witalec ‘25.
Congratulations to the Middle School Science Sisters Robotics team on their Second Place Champions Award at the Northeast Ohio First LEGO League District Tournament this past weekend! This small but mighty team is now headed to States!
Rosemary Mudry ‘02, Executive Director of Cleveland Public Market Corporation has been named one of Cleveland Magazine’s most interesting people in 2025. After a decade working in community development, Rosemary Mudry leads Cleveland Public Market Corp., the new nonprofit tasked with running the West Side Market. Cleveland Magazine states that “The former teacher and coach wants to create vibrant, thriving gathering spaces — in both the market and the East Side brewery she runs with her husband.”
Congratulations to Laurel's Upper School JustWrite team, which won first place overall this past weekend at the first-ever Regional JustWrite Tournament, which Laurel hosted! The team earned the tournament sweepstakes award for the third year in a row, and Laurel students also won four of the six Excellence in Poetry awards.
Laurel Head of School Ann V. Klotz has been named the recipient of the 2025 Beverly H. Sgro Award by The Heads Network Board of Trustees. This award is given annually to an individual who has supported and advocated for the advancement of women in leadership of independent schools.
Natalia Navarro ‘25 was featured in a Veale Youth Entrepreneurship Forum newsletter about her nonprofit, For the Flow. In her interview, Natalia spoke about the purpose of the business, which tackles period poverty and inaccessibility to period products. Her business focuses on action, education and advocacy.
In December Julia Duong '26 participated in Case Western Reserve University's Fall Intersections 2024 for Undergraduate Research. She was the only high schooler to participate.
