Jami Morris ‘21 Raises More than $77K for Cancer Research
Laurel alum Jami Morris '21 raised more than $77,000 dollars for cancer research through her second annual Hit Fore Hope golf event.
The event took place the weekend of July 8th at the Beechmont Country Club in Orange, OH. Jami established this event in honor of her mother Dana, who was treated for leukemia in 2020. Jami developed Hit Fore Hope with the sole mission of bringing comfort to families who have received a cancer diagnosis.
Jami and her mother's journey was highlighted in this WKYC story where she says “I thought I could use my voice through golf to make a difference.” Fast forward to today and Dana has a clean bill of health, but Jami admits she still worries about her best friend. Now, she's using her fundraiser "Hit Fore Hope" to help heal and help others who will also receive a devastating cancer diagnosis.
Jami’s passion for golf led her to a first place win in the high school State Golf Tournament in 2020. She then went on to play golf for Penn State, where she is a rising Junior.
