Huge congratulations to Katharine Northrop ‘25, Julia Duong ‘26, and Eve Belding ‘25, who all earned second-place honors in their respective categories at the recent Northeast Ohio Science and Engineering Fair!
Katharine presented her research titled “Regulation of microRNA 146a expression by O-GlcNAcylation in T lymphocytes: Unraveling a potential mechanism in Type One diabetes pathogenesis” and came in 2nd place in Health Medicine for Grades 11-12. She also received three special awards for her research:
Cleveland Clinic Genomic Medicine Institute for Outstanding Projects in Biological Sciences
Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute for Outstanding Research Projects
Northeastern Ohio Association for Diagnostics and Laboratory Medicine
Julia presented her research titled “Cereblon: A novel mediator of tauopathy in traumatic brain injury” and tied for 2nd place in Health Medicine for Grades 11-12
Eve’s research, titled “Understanding Climbing Knots with Finite Element Analysis” earned 2nd place in Math and Computer Science for Grades 11-12.
