Upper School Students Author Blog in InspirED

Laurel’s Upper School students recently authored a blog post on InspirED—a Website dedicated to student empowerment, positive school climate, and social and emotional learning—about Laurel’s belonging initiative.

The belonging initiative was born out of a 2023-2024 school year survey facilitated by Laurel’s Center for Research on Girls (LCRG) in which Upper School students took the Yale School Climate Walkthrough. The survey looked at student experiences throughout the school. Data from this survey enabled us to work on strengthening certain pillars of belonging within the school. 

The blog outlines the plan the Scholars developed, lessons learned along the way, and what is next for further collaboration and engagement around belonging at Laurel.
