Laurel School is pleased to announce Christina Breen has been selected to serve as Laurel’s eleventh Head of School, effective July 1, 2025. Cleveland.com, the Cleveland Jewish News, and The News Herald highlighted this news in October.

After a robust search and vetting process, including reviewing extensive input from the Laurel Community, the Search Committee recommended Ms. Breen to the Board of Trustees, who unanimously voted to appoint her Laurel’s next Head of School.

Ms. Breen comes to Laurel from Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, where she served as Associate Dean of Student Life and in integral roles charged with the direction of the school, including Strategic Planning, Curriculum Committee, Admissions Committee, Community Conduct Committee, and Agenda Committee (chair).

“After an extensive search that attracted candidates of the highest caliber, a testament to Laurel's reputation for academic excellence, innovation, and leadership in girls' education, the decision to appoint Ms. Breen was clear,” said Megan Lum Mehalko ‘83, Chair of Laurel’s Board of Trustees. “Her diverse experience and exceptional skills were evident throughout her interviews and interactions with our community members. We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Breen to Laurel next summer and look forward to seeing our beloved school continue to thrive under her leadership and expertise.”
