Madeleine Adler ‘25 & Isabelle Kaufman ‘25 Offer Advice to Freshman in Cleveland Jewish News

Madeleine (Maddy) Adler ‘25 and Isabelle (Izzy) Kaufman ‘25 were included in a Cleveland Jewish News story where they offered advice to incoming freshmen. Tips included being open-minded, pursuing new interests, and getting outside your comfort zone.
Maddy said, “I think one of the most important things to do in order to have a positive start is to be 100% open-minded. Being open-minded allows you to try the different opportunities that entering high school awards you, such as new classes and extracurriculars. Having this mindset entering your first year of high school can help make the transition easier and less stressful.”

Izzy said, “Beyond learning about your interests and potential career paths, high school can also be a time to meet new people, including those in the grades above you. Although it seems very scary as a freshman, I recommend talking to the older kids through sports teams or classes as much as possible because there is so much to learn from them.”

The two Laurel Seniors also highlight how freshmen, and all high school students, should explore many interests. “One of those interests may lead you to a career path you want to follow,” said Izzy.
